Marking up Sub-Items in SharpeSoft Estimator

Oftentimes, in an effort to better consolidate our information, we may end up preventing the system from seeing data we would rather it see in order to accurately express our bid. A common way this happens is by entering sets of data as sub-items that should be detected by the Rounding Sheet, and ultimately end up on the final proposal. Below is a technique that can be used to keep our items grouped together as desired while still allowing them to be rounded accurately.
Note that there are no sub-level items in the Rounding Sheet as presented in the video. This means we need to make the items visible to the Rounding Sheet before we can proceed.
How to:
At the top level of the Bid Items window, right-click in the right half of the panel and select Insert Group/Alternate.

Title and describe the new group appropriately for the sub-items that will be assigned to it.

Drill into the top level item containing the sub-items you want to round.
Select multiple items by highlighting each item and pressing the spacebar.
Right-click on the highlighted items and select Copy Bid Item.

Return to the top level bid item view. Right-click below the group and select Paste Bid Item. You may need to move the item afterwards, which can be done by holding the Shift key while clicking and dragging the item.

Now open the Rounding Sheet, you will find that the grouped items are now available to be adjusted as you wish.
