Construction Photos in SharpeSoft IPM

Accurate photographs of the construction environment are necessary when ascertaining remaining project length, accounting for inclement weather, and maintaining a general level of information about a given project.

Photos can be inserted into an IPM project in several different ways, broadly defined by their function. These are either Pre-Construction Photos, Daily Progress Photos, or Post-Construction Photos.

NOTE: If you are working in the cloud environment, you must first upload the images to be used to the server from your PC. See the Cloud Toolbar blog for more information.

Pre/Post-Construction Photos

Pre-Construction and Post-Construction Photos are inserted into the system in the same window, and will therefore be grouped together here.

To import a photo, right click on either of the headers and in the context menu click Insert Insert. This will open a browse window from which you can choose one or more images to import. Double click on the image you want, and it will automatically be copied to the Project Photos window description panel and listed under the heading you chose. Holding down the shift key and clicking on multiple images allows you to import groups of photos. In the window's Engineer panel, your login name will identify you as the person who imported the picture.

Once imported, the photo description will be identical to the name it was listed as in select window. To change the description, right click on the image and in the context menu click Change button Change. That will turn the entry into a text field and you can type in the new description.

When you are finished, you can click on a picture's description and the photo will appear on the right.

Construction Photos (By Work Day)

The middle header, Construction Photos (By Work Day), will populate itself as workday project photos entered by your inspectors are added to the system in the Daily Progress Workdays window.

Insert, Change and Delete buttons

These buttons appear in the window's lower left corner, and are also accessible from the right click context menu.

To insert an image, you will first highlight either the Pre-Construction Photos or Post-Construction Photos headers and then click Insert insert. Follow the procedures outlined in the Importing Photos above.

To Change a description, click on an image description, click Change button change. The description line will change to edit mode allowing, you to modify the entry.

To delete a photo, click on the description of the photo and click Delete Button delete.

Change Photo

Clicking Project Photos-Change Photo button allows you to replace the photo attached to a specific description with a different image. Click on the description whose photo you want to change, then click the button. A browse window will open from which you can select a different image.
