Changing Crew Rates in SharpeSoft Estimator

Crews are an important part of any job, consolidating routinely used pieces of equipment and the operators assigned to them for easy management. Just as important as keeping proper track of who is assigned to what piece of equipment in what crew is being able to determine accurate rates of production. Read on for best practices when it comes to changing individual crew rates to best suit your needs!

As shown in the video, there are different ways to edit a crew's production rate at different points in the process.

How to: Editing from the Crew Table

  • Click on the Tables menu from the main toolbar.

  • Select Crews from the dropdown menu.

  • Right-click in the Production/Day column in the Crews window and select Edit.

  • Now enter the crew's production rate and unit of measure. Examples might be one lump sum, 10 per day, etc.

    • Note that an edited crew rate will only appear when inserting a new crew elsewhere in the bid. Crews already inserted will need to have their rates adjusted from inside the bid item detail view, which will be explained below.

How to: Editing when Inserting a New Crew

Production rates can also be adjusted when first inserting them into a job.

  • In the Bid Item Detail Window, select the Crews table.

  • Click on your crew of choice and drag it into the bid.

  • The Enter Crew Production Rate/Time and Quantity window will open. If a crew does not already have an associated rate, or you want to change it from the one displayed, do so here.

  • Select OK.

How to: Editing from the Production Panel

Production rates can also be adjusted directly from the bid item detail window after the crew has already been inserted.

  • Insert your selected crew.

  • Edit information in the Production Panel by either editing the Production Rate or Total Days.

  • The altered values will be applied to the crew. Note that if you utilize the above method (Editing when Inserting a New Crew) and then change the production rate after, the new production rate will override what was inserted originally.
