This window is used to override the job tax rate only for a given group you are working on. As an example, this might be necessary if your job spans one or more counties using different tax rates for different bid items.
To change the tax rate, click Override tax rate and then enter the tax rate in the field on the right. When finished, click OK.

This process is especially useful if you are working in or in relation to one of the handful of states that does not charge sales tax when purchasing construction materials. Additional reasons could be your materials were purchased in one state while the committed work was done in another state, with different tax rates. Whatever the reason is, SharpeSoft makes it quick and easy to change tax rates on the fly.
How to
Open the Bid Items window from the toolbar, or press Ctrl+B on your keyboard.
In the Bid Items window, select the group with a tax rate you wish to manipulate. Make sure that it is highlighted.
Next, click on the Actions menu on the menu bar. Select Override Tax Rate for Group and proceed.
Return to the Bid Items window. The cost and bid total of the group and all items within it will be altered to reflect the newly chosen tax rate. The title bar of the group itself will also feature an indicator that a tax override is present, and for how much.
